Edit video with
the coding agent
you already use.

Bare Video gives your coding agent a practical editing kit for short-form video. Pick a starting style, choose the kinds of compositions you like, or bring your own reference and let the agent adapt the edit to your footage.

Starter styles are a baseline, not a limit. Your instructions and references can override them.

Starter styles

Start with a look. Change anything.

These styles give the agent a visual baseline for color, type, cards, captions, and motion. They do not lock the edit into a fixed layout. A reference video or a direct instruction can override any part of them.

THE POINT.
Bare MinimalStrong framing, almost no decoration.

First-time setup

Set it up once. Then just edit.

Open the project with your coding agent. If you choose Groq or Deepgram and the key is missing, the agent creates or opens a local .env file for you. On Windows that can be Notepad. Put the key there, save it, and continue. Keys never need to go into chat.

01Open the project

Your video, references, and Bare Video can live together in the working folder.

02Add a cloud key only if needed

Groq uses GROQ_API_KEY. Deepgram uses DEEPGRAM_API_KEY. The agent opens the local env file instead of asking for the secret in chat.

03Build the brief and preview

Choose the style, components, captions, sound, and review flow. The agent edits with your real footage and references.

Build the prompt

Give the agent your taste.

Choose as much or as little as you want. The kit gives the agent useful starting points, while your own references and instructions can reshape the composition completely.

Goal
What should the finished short do?

Optional. One sentence is enough. The agent still inspects the real footage before deciding the edit.

Transcript
How should the agent understand speech?

Choose the transcription route. The agent checks what already exists before downloading models or using cloud services.

Collaboration
When do you want to give feedback?

Keep this simple. Plan first if you want control before editing, or let the agent make a concrete draft.

Editing theme
Choose a starting style.

This sets the visual skin: color, type, cards, captions, spacing, and motion. The agent can still change the composition.

Layouts & elements
Give the agent a useful kit.

Select the compositions you like. They are ingredients, not restrictions: the agent can resize, combine, reposition, or adapt them to the footage.

These are starting components, not a strict allow-list.
Finishing touches
Control the intensity.

These choices shape how often the edit changes and how much captions and sound contribute.

First output

Your footage. Your reference. Your edit.

Use the starter kit as-is or push past it. Bare Video gives the agent enough structure to begin without deciding the creative ceiling for you.
